The Brownstown Development Team was created in 2008 and contracted with Ball State's Building Better Communities to assist with the creation of a community plan that will set the direction for Brownstown's future development. A steering committee of business owners, community leaders, educators and volunteers was established to help guide the process.
On March 19, 2009, over eighty local citizens shared their ideas at a community planning retreat and their comments and suggestions led to the identification of six general areas of focus (listed to the right). Task groups have established goals and objectives based on the input provided at the retreat. As they proceed with the finalization of these goals and objectives and the creation of implementation plans, task group leaders would like to invite interested members of the community to join them in this process. If you would like to join a task group, please contact Amy Motazedi at 812-521-4731.
There will be a meeting held at noon, Thursday, March 18, at the Brownstown Chamber of Commerce to discuss the final plan created by Ball State's Building Better Communities.
