Farmer's Market: Every Saturday from 7 a.m. to noon from May to October 31 at the town parking lot on Walnut St. Only locally-owned produce and craft items allowed. Friday & Saturday, Sept. 10 & 11: Brownstown Melonfest, held around the courthouse in Brownstown. Vendors, activities, a large parade and music on two stages are held throughout the event. There will be an inflatable fun park on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. with bounce houses for pre-schoolers and boxing ring, obstacle courses, Velcro wall and much more with a $10 bracelet. Saturday, Sept. 11: Breakfast at the Masonic Lodge across from the courthouse on U.S. 50. The Brownstown Order of the Eastern Star #264 will be serving breakfast from 7-11 a.m. during the Melonfest. The menu will consist of biscuits and gravy, ham, scrambled eggs, fruit and coffee, milk or juice. A free will offering will be taken.

Sept. 12 & 13: Auditions for "All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten" (non-musical version) to be presented at the Royal Off-the-Square Theatre in Brownstown on Nov. 12, 13, 19 and 20. Sept. 23-25: Revival at Norman Christian Church with Pastor/singer/evangelist Jerry Sawyers. Singing starts at 6:30 p.m. on the 23rd and 24th. Community Outreach Day on Saturday, Sept. 25 with singing at 3 p.m. and supper at 5 p.m. Bring your own lawn chair. Singing and meal will be inside. Everyone welcome.
