Welcome to the Round Barn Bike Ride a favorite of the summer bike touring season. We offer distances of 32, 62, 80+ miles featuring flat to gently rolling routes through some of southern Indiana’s most scenic and picturesque country side. Tour two authentic round barns representing the art and woodworking skills of agricultural architecture from over 100 years ago.
Ride through history on the last standing triple-span covered bridge in Indiana and the longest historic covered bridge still standing in the United States! The completely restored 460 foot long Medora Covered Bridge is an architecturally significant Triple Span Multiple King Post Truss Design with Burr Arch. Built in 1875 the Bridge will soon be listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
With the 32-mile route feeding into the longer routes, the Round Barn Bike Ride has something to offer riders of all abilities. Whether you’re interested in a carefree, leisurely roll while taking in the sites or a serious and a challenging workout conquering some intense inclines, this ride is sure to please. Enjoy the Round Barn Bike Ride - it’s the summer’s most well-rounded bike tour. Long distance riders say the “Round Barn” is excellent training for the Ride Across Indiana.
Note: A small part of the ride includes in-town traffic and short distances on State Highways. This Ride is not recommended for small children on their own bicycles.
