Since 2006, Red Sky Rescue has helped over 1500 dogs and puppies from the Jackson County area to find safe loving homes. We network with other shelters in the Midwest and as far away as Vermont and New Hampshire, transporting many of our rescued pets to other no-kill shelters across the country where they have a better chance of adoption. We are always looking for local foster families to provide a temporary home environment for dogs with special needs, who may be recovering from illness, raising puppies or just need a few weeks to build their trust and confidence in humans so that they become more adoptable. We invite you to consider being a volunteer at our shelter; our small staff works 7 days a week, 365 days a year, caring for the pets awaiting adoption or transport at our shelter facility in western Jackson County. It is rewarding and satisfying work to know you have been a part of saving the life of an abandoned pet. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated! If you are interested in more information about becoming a volunteer or a foster parent, please contact us by phone or email! Red Sky Rescue strives to educate the community about the importance of early spay/neuter of family pets as the key to reducing euthanasia rates in shelters across America. We speak to school and civic organizations throughout the area, sharing information on responsible pet ownership and low-cost spay/neuter programs available to the public to help families keep their pets rather than abandoning them or surrendering them to a shelter.
